A sunny start to Festival week!

The 2015 Cherry Hinton Festival began on Saturday with the Record Breakers Summer Reading Challenge Certificate and Medals Ceremony, followed by 52 Stories with children’s author and illustrator Nicola Killen. Nicola read her story ‘Stop Sticking, Stan!’ and showed the children how to make pop-up books.

On Saturday afternoon St Andrew’s Church hosted the Mini Festival Fete. Here, visitors has a chance to see the Local History Society Exhibition celebrating 30 Years of the Festival, as well as decorating a duck for the Duck Race, browsing the bric-a-brac stalls and enjoying delicious home made cake and a cup of tea.

The duck race is for all ages!

In glorious sunshine, Sunday saw the return of the popular Duck Race at the Spring Head (organised by the Turbo Trust). There were some beautiful decorated ducks – in fact some were too good to put in the water and race!
